V8 Conversion Hilux to 4 Runner?

Post by Dan_86 »

Hi all first time poster, been lurking for a while Trolling through the forum.

I purchased a 79 model single cab hilux earlier on in the year which has a 253 blue motor and 5 speed conversion. However after closer inspection i found the chassis had been dodgily cut and welded, and its a fair bit out. Now the question im asking is will all of this kit bolt straight into a 84 model 4 runner? I have spoken to my local engineer amd he said as loing as the motor is out of the same era and passes emissions bla bla he will pass it.

What am I in for?......:?

Any help is much appreciated,
Dan

Should be no reasons why you cant fit the V8 conversion out of a single cab into a 4 runner, different models but pretty similar. But pretty sure you'll find a few things don't line up!

you'll have mod tailshafts and a few other things may be a bit out.

But you already have a working V8 lux so don't see why you can't make one out of the two!
