WT difflock into NT Drover

Post by Kitika »

G'day,
Just went out and bought a g13a powered 85 hitop Drover as I'm tired of fixing up the rusty soft top W/T that I have. I have a detroit difflock in the rear of the WT, Can I put it in the Drover? If so are the NT ratios the same as the WT so I can just bolt the whole diff centre in? Or on another note could I put it in the front or are the axles to small?

Cheers for your help

You can put it in the drover,
NT 3.9:1, WT 3.7:1,
you can run it in the front , if you get chromo cv's (same spline as rear).

Alright so I'll have to put it in the NT's centre to keep the gearing the same. How much do the chromo's go for? Would rather have the locker in the front as I've just got used too not having to listen to the continuous click click crack when it's in the rear.

locker works better in the rear as up the steep stuff front is in the air half the time anyway, plus its easier to steer.

So just another few questions, Can I put the W/T centers into the N/T housings and will it work? Or are the axle splines different? Also is it pretty easy to change the flanges to suit the smaller ones on the N/T? I would like to put the w/t diffs under there but it is abit more work than I can be bothered doing altho I do still have the 2 sets...
Just out of interest what needs to be done to fit the W/Ts under there? Apart from new spring perches?
