2007 hilux turbo diesel.
Can i get extractors for this not not???

Ive been told yes and no and just want to clarify!

I dont see why you want extractors on a newish turbo engine :?

shot answer is yes you could get them made, does someone have them as a stock item I dont know.

I would imagine there would be more benefit from better dump pipe tp the turbo and possibly changing the turbo and or adding an intercooler

well i just find it abit slugish, straight off the mark. And was thinking maybe extractors would give me bit more 'get up and go' power, if you understand what i mean?

I dont want to do anything to big or money wise though....

any other ideas to help me out?

Short answer NO

Extractor manifolds are for N/A engines.

But

You can get tuned length (extractor) type turbo manifolds but they are pointless for one chasing low end power increase.

To increase ur low end torque, get a 3" mandrel bent exhaust and 3" dump pipe fitted. Probably looking at the $1300-1500 mark for that.

as zoltan said, 3" exhaust. or a dp chip.

so either go for whole new exhaust system or this dp chip?

Whats the estimated cost of chip and would you be able to explain the chip bit better?

One of the recommendations of a DP chip is to have a larger exhaust fitted.

The DP chips are also more expensive.

free flowing means mandrel bends and making sure those bends arent too sharp. also a muffler that isnt restrictive(or no muffler)

also NOT having a muffler will that give better sound??

Sure will, youll hear the turbo whistle up nice.

Ask for a 3" mandrel bent exhaust and 3" dump pipe.

anything under 2k for the both is a good deal.

Exhausts are expensive especially on a newer car.

Okay than, so if i said i wanted to do it as cheap as possible, where do i go than? Whats my options if any??

Only reason for cheaper is because i am looking into a lift kit aswell!

oh dont worry i pushed it down plenty of times but i want it to sound bit more like a monster because at the moment it sounds like a pussy cat....

Any way of still keeping the $$$ but getting better sound??

Just get a 3" press bent exhaust no muffler, dont worry about the mandrel or the dump.

Prolly be looking at like $600

okay then, well i have to enquire about it....

I ran up the other day and the guy said he normally installs a 'straight through exhaust', this only costing $180!

Just wondering what he would be doing here to bo so cheaper??

Because his proberly fitting a larger diameter pipe, but still having stock, "tri-flow" or chamber mufflers and crush bent bends.. in turn, DECREASING flow.. and INCREASING the time that it takes for you turbo to wind up.. etc.

For a 3.0L Tdi Hilux i would be going a 2.5" dump, 2.5" MANDREL exhaust with no mufflers. 3" will be a little to big if you ask me.

3.0" is NOT too big for a 3L turbo motor- I have one on my 1KZ and its made a huge difference.

Line my hilux up against dads prado (the prado has the advantage in power and torque from factory) and the lux kills it. The hilux starts to pull hard and build boost at about 1200rpm, the prado needs 1600 to start to get going.

I paid $1040 for a fully custom exhaust, 3" mandrel, Open pipe muffler and labour. Cos mines an engine swap, everything from the dump pipe to the routing of the exhaust had to be custom made.

Its not about how fast your car is compared to a Prado bud. I just dont think a 4cyl needs a full 3" with mufflers (restrictions - straight through or not) the hotter the gas, the faster is wants to get out. When you got a 3", more diameter, more time to cool, less "rush" to get out the exhaust. And plus, a 2.5" mandrel, without mufflers will have no restrictions, at all..

when i rang up all i remember is, him saying for $180 he can fit and install a 'straight through exhaust' (whatever that means), he said he cuts it off before the muffler and simply just welds on the new 2.5" pipe.....

Sorry i know that isnt a very good description, but from what ive said if you understand, will that help or make a difference at all??

I'd say he just gets rid of the muffler and thats all, couldn't be too hard to do yourself.

You've got my suggestion above ^^

I spent almost $4000 on my 3.0l patrol turbo diesel, ended up with a mufflerless 2.75 system, which ended up half way down the body.

I've had crush bent, mandrel bent. 2.5", 2.75", 3.0". Mufflers, no mufflers - all the bullshit. I found what a 2.75" running 19psi on the patrol worked best.

WOW, 4 grand is alot for exhaust system!
well i wouldnt want to do it myself, rather get someone else so i know it 'should' be done professionally...

so with the sounds of what he describes hes going to do, would it be much use or worth it???

2.5" or 3.0" Mandrel bent off the dump pipe (back of turbo). One or no mufflers.
