I don't think the Transfer will bolt upto an auto out of a VL or Skyline.

But there is an adapter for a T700, for a VL so using that and then another adapter you can bolt the Transfer to the Greabox.

I don't know if it will all fit though, i'm still looking into it :D

thanks, with the length of adaptors it could be a bit of a squeeze ,my d/s angle on the back isnt the best even with a high pinion and my front shaft is rather long already. i would like a auto though.

If the 2.8 GU Diesel, comes with an Auto that will bolt up, as they are the same motor :D

I have a GU shorty with an RD28 auto
What else would be required to fit the RB30 to it though? Would I need a flex plate etc from a commy auto?

kiwi i swapped my ford 250 for a rb30 it was easy as. a bit of wiring, mounts, bellhousing all bolt up. swap dash cluster. prob flex plate. check out turbo calis. com for the info you need. good swap imo.

The conversion itself seems fairly straight foward, but would be much easier with a manual.
My problem is, I know a few people who have done the conversion, but none of them auto.

It will add another $2750 if I convert to manual, as the RD28 Patrol was never sold here, so I would need to get a boc via oz, plus flywheel etc. If I could use my existing auto, I wouldn't hesitate in the swap.

you could consult a sparky about the computer. i think youd need to keep the auto puter and mabey piggy back a vl or skyline one on for the engine. i am quite happy with my rb30 swap and thats before the injection and turbo :D

Your flexplate should fit the rb30 ...
