Grand Vitara 2006 3door

Post by Jiven27 »

Hi All,

This site was recommended to me by someone on 4x4 earth :) So I have a bit of a problem. I've recently sold my boring little city car and bought a 2006 Grand Vitara 3 door, which I absolutely love. Prob is that the 2006 3 door model doesn't have low range! A very stupid mistake on my part - only the 2006 5 door has the low range.

I'm basically wanting a 4wd for beach driving and a bit of offroad stuff - nothing too hardcore (yet) as I'm only a beginner. So my question is with my little 3 door constant 4wd - is this going to do what I want it too? Can anyone suggest modifications to make it more efficient and better for offroading? Someone suggested putting in a true transfer case.....would this be doable or even worth it?

I don't really want to get rid of this car as I only just bought it. Anyone got any experience driving this type of car offroad??

Also does anyone know anywhere good in Perth to take your Suzuki for mods? I have no idea where to even START looking. :?

Thanks for your help :D

My wife use to have one of these and it was not a bad car. I took it up the beach a few times and it travelled ok.

The cuttings getting on and off the beach were interesting - just a bit more right foot than usual seemed to do the trick.

Wouldnt say I would recommend it for beach driving, but it will do it.
