Or do as most of the Buggys that competed did and on the rear we used super works winchs from super cheap with a double pull off the diff. On the front we used the normal front mounts. Dont know of anyone that ever burnt out the super works boat winches.

Then you must be doing something wrong with it. Or perhaps just got a dud?
I know of a heap of them that are still going strong.
I still have 1 off my first buggy that is in the shed in perfect order.
Perhaps it may be somethn to do with shock pressures?
I know of the Warn ones that have also stripped gears and burnt out.
What type are you currently running??

I had the super works winch, the only problem i had was I broke a 6mm cable with the bounce on the rear of my buggy, so i replaced it with static climbing rope (just for winching the car down).

Adrian burned out a $400 warn winch (the small orange one) so i figure i'll buy a few of the other ones if i have to, but i never had a problem with it.
