Keyless Entry Install Help.

Post by inais »

Hi all, first post, after reading a few things on here, seems like a good place to be, just got my first 4x4.

Anyways, I scored a deal at Jb, for a Warlock Keyless Entry system thing.
The car I have (84' Jeep Cherokee (unsure of model)) already has central locking, but for extra security, have decided to upgrade.

The wiring is killing me, Ive got 2 brown wires (for lights flashing), 2 Power wires (pos, neg), 1 trunk, 1power window trigger?, & 6 wires left over to configure the actuator. orange, white, yellow & thier striped partners.

Ive been trying for about 4 hours with all types of combinations to get it to work, came close once, the wire got hot, and pressing the button only made a very light movement of the actuators.

Now, on my vehicle, there is a power window and locking buttons on the drivers door, which behind that is where I am doing my work. Should I be under the dash (hell of an electrical mess)?
From the buttons on the door, there are 5 wires, 2 earths, one 12v power & a blue and pink wire.
The blue and pink wires run from there to a plug, the plug then turns into 4 wires, 2 going to the actuator, the other 2 go thru the door and under the dash.

I only have a very small amount of electrical experience, but have installed quite a few car stereos. This might be a bit different, but seems kind of the same.

Is there anything I'm missing?
Any help on this would be great, as I'd prefer not to pay something ridiculous for someone to cut a few wires. and connect them again.
Thankyou in advance.

I should also mention, that the actuators are unknown as to weather they are masters or not.

If I put a key in to unlock, it will only unlock that door, then once your in, you use the switch on the door to unlock all other doors.
The passenger side also has this switch.

Thanks again.

door lock white wire drivers kick
door unlock dark green as above ( reverse polarity)

pls test first only giving you a hint :) if that works and locks all the other doors and not the drivers you will need to put a motor in it as well.
