60 series Landcruiser - manual petrol vs. automatic diesel

Post by simonoz »

hey everybody,

as already posted in the "wanted" board, i'm looking for a landcruiser to travel around australia. but the question in the post might not be in the right place, so i better put them here.

i found 2 suitable landcruiser, but not sure which one would be the better choice:

#1:
1985, 4 litre turbo diesel, 407000 km, automatic

#2:
1989, 4 litre petrol, 260000 km, manual

what about the automatic? how reliable is it? i know that for my plan a diesel would be better, but i'm worried about the automatic and the high mileage.

thanks a lot.
kind regards,
simon
