Sierra Conversion GTi
Sierra Conversion GTi
Can anyone please let me know what major changes need to be made for putting a Gti 1.3l engine into a 86 sierra? for example will the bell housing match or do i need an adaptor plate. Any info would be greatly appreciated
well, not straight in but not insanely hard either.
You will need
-sierra sump and oil pickup (had to modify my oil pickup bracket)
-sierra clutch and flywheel (bolts straight to gearbox with these)
-sierra waterpump rear metal coolant pipe
-custom radiator hoses (ae82+ford laser/mazda 323 95model top pipe)
-modified dizzy (ie mazda 1.6L turbo 323 rotor button and cap- modified to suit) or right angle drive or recessed firewall
-wiring loom and computer
-electric fuel pump either intank or external
-gti exhaust flange with sierra extractors welded on to it
-swift GTI modified accelerator cable
-sierra engine mounts (I used VL commodore ones- alot tougher)
-right angled rear thermostat housing (I used a swift cino as a direct boltup but you can also use a Mitsubishi Astron Thermostat housing)
-LOTS of spare time
