Petrol hilux engine into diesel hilux.

Post by vk7ybi »

Hi,
Mate has a diesel hilux to pull the engine from to get another diesel hilux going.. Have a source of a petrol engine to get spare hilux moving, but question is will it bolt up to where the diesel engine came out of. Clutch housing pattern and front engine mounts? Both are mid 80s, about 86 i think. 2.4 diesel. not sure what the petrol is.

TIA.

Petrol and diesel bellhousings are different but the bellhousings are interchangable as they are the same gearbox (G52)
If its a 4y or 3y petty motor then no, the engine mounts are not the same.
Im about to put my 2.4D into my car and get rid of my petty motor.
Cheers
