Haltech E6X ECU or Microtech LT10s

Post by ludacris »

Which is a better unit. Will be running a 302 windsor in a comp only vehicle and I do not want to muck around with air flow meters , map sensors or oxy sensors. Please pros and cons of each unit. I can get both at the same price.

So are you saying you don't want to have an airflow meter, map sensor or oxy sensor period? Or you simply want the unit with the most compatibility so you can fit whatever you have lying around?

im running a lt10s on a 1uzfe and havefitted a couple to other 1uz's and couldnt fault them for what you want to do
they only run a onboard map sensor. dont need an oxy but can have it
and dont have airflow meters

and service from them was good for me

Unit with most compatability would be nice.

is this right
Microtec is more for Drag cars
and
Haltech is more street drivability porformance

Thanks.

mmmmm no!
both work well, BUT. Microtechs biggest letdown is the fact they are pre-loaded for a specific application and have to be sent back to them to be modified for different engine configs.
The Haltech are generally able to be setup from 2-16cyl NA to 3bar and anything inbetween..
Also Haltech and Motec have there driver boards which can run low impedance injectors WELL!! Microtech sorta does it alright at best.

Damien from Haltech was one of the engineers from MOTEC before they started Haltech, so they know there $hit....

Hi Cris

I've run both brand computers on various rotaries i've owned over the years and although the Microtech do the job you are far better off with the Haltech, they are more tunable and run smoother.

The guys had their factory near ours in Sydney when i lived there and were always very helpful and really know their stuff.

Microtech have always been a bit hit and miss with both their product and their after sales service.

Cheers Chris

Been doing my research on the same thing recently. Seems motec is the first choice then Autronic and Haltec. A lot of places will not work with anything else as there more trouble than there worth
Check out ebay in the US theres some cheap Haltec units to be had.
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

haltech for sure, alot of them are even plug in replacements for factory ecu's negating the need for patch looms. I've also heard haltech have much smaller increments in tuning to allow a finer tune. If my 525hp V8 can run fine on a Haltech I am sure you'll have no dramas with one.
