GU Mags on a GQ? Any good?

Post by baggers »

G'day.

I've got a mate thats flogging off a set of GU mags because he needed 15 inch rims for his 35's, and was wondering if anyones ever put GU mags on a GQ? Will they fit? I've searched the net but haven't been able to find any pics of it done, does it look that shithouse?

Cheers,

Baggers.

Yes as JK said they will fit but i think the gu runs a different offset (dont qoute me ) but im pretty sure the steelies have so i would assume so would the alloys .......

I f you have reasonable Flex in the rear go for a cruiser offset alloy will rub the least on the inner guard

My GQ came with GU steelies which are now on my old man's GQ. They work fine with standard 31s.

Yes A1's right a narrower offset than the Cruiser ones so will probably be a scrubbing problem at max flex if you want to run wider than standard 10.5 tyres.

if you look in the members section,DirtPigs and myself have photos of our patrols with the standard GU rims.
I reckon they look excellent, but as DirtPigs said "it's all in the eye of the beholder". :D

gu rims are a 0 offset and will make the tyres rub on the rear inner guard and chassis . with 31" tyres it wont be too bad but any bigger and you will have trouble . as the other guys said cruiser offset which is -25 will give
you alot more clearance . trust me cause i just tried them with 37" tyres and had no chance of them fitting.
