my mate and i are putty a v6 in his 85 hilux dual cab, we bought the kit second hand which it came out of a hilux 4runner, now the right hand engine mount is out by 60 mm, we have the left one which is a marks adaptors one, not welded on yet.
will we need to customise the right one? or should it bolt up to the original hilux mount.
is the hilux 4runner 86 model chassis different lengh then the85 hilux dual cab?
and help would be much appreciated

the 86 runner is probably IFS.
the hilux dual cab will be solid front axle.
the engine mounts are different positions between petrol and diesel so depends on what the kit was for originally and what it is going into.

i beleive thet deisel models line up but the y series petrols do not.
check the marks website im pretty sure the info is on there...

the 4 runner is LFS front, but it may have been diesel, our dual cab is petrol, yeah i looked at marks adaptors, so i guess we will have to get the right hand bracket from marks,
cheers for the reply buddy

All i can say is do not use the marks adapter for the left side ( passenger side ) if you want to run crossover steering because you will need to booty fab it.

Right hand bracket ( drivers side ) I just chopped mine out and got the bracket from marks but in hindsight i would have just gone to wreckers and cut one out of another chassis and put it where you need it. Marks kit is $250 for both so not sure what it would be for 1 but i could only imagine it would be around the $100 mark. Correct me if i am wrong.

Hope this helps

Cheers

the conversion came with the left hand side from marks adaptors, we have already cut the original mount away from the left hand side, we decided to purchase a right hand side to see how it goes, the gearbox is a g52 and the bellhousing is from mark's adaptors, cheers for the reply fella's
