GQ diffs

Post by 4RUNNER_01 »

Hey guys just asking for a mate,

Are front and rear GQ diff centre's interchangeable?

And surely you can get auto-lockers for the front diff i probably don't know where to look but can someone point me in the right direction...

Any ideas welcome but the idea is put a auto-locker in the front and run the limo rear then when he can afford it air-locker front and swap auto to rear also thinking this cause you usually cant put a auto-locker in a limited slip hemisphere correct me if im wrong.

Cheers

I think BBM do them. Or maybe try the LOKKA from 4wd systems, pretty much identical to the lock right, about $599 from memory. Cheers Loz.

I agree i have an air-locker and auto-locker in my 4runner and love the air locker but this guys on a budget and was hoping he could get 2 auto's now instead of 1 air-locker for around $1100 maybe wishful thinking

Mate, that doesnt fit from memory. Its to suit a 4 pinion open carrier. If you can get a front carrier out of a GQ leaf sprung ute then you can fit it. Cheers Loz.

GQ diff centers are changable as long as its coil sprung not leaf, thats how you get a hi pinon rear diff.

Ok thanks for that it is a coily wagon so assumably it has the 2 pinion front so i guess the best way around it is to buy the right locker first or sell his centre and buy the ute/pathfinder one and cheaper locker(s)

But thinking about it he has a limited slip rear that he now wants to lock so hes gonna be looking to change that hemisphere or whole 3rd member anyway.

I know this is getting a bit much but what rear diff do people replace it with to install the lockers i though just about all nissans had rear LSD and front would be running C&P backwards if put in rear wouldnt it

Cheers
