lux steering damper

Post by DUDELUX »

before you say do a search, i did a search and thats why im not asking about gimmick RTC or adjustables.
im looking at replacing the factory damper on my lux(86 dcab, solid axle), im looking at a HD damper, ive heard good and bad stories about pretty much everything ever made.
im looking at either: raw4x4, ironman, rancho, efs xtreme, tough dog, etc
im after your input/advice on whats good, whats not so good, rough prices, all that sort of stuff.
thanks

my ironman hd removed my steer back out of corners at first, like it needed wearing in. I could turn a corner, sharply and let go of the wheel and it would keep turning. I didn't need to hold the wheel around roundabouts.

Now after some decent offroading and giving it a workout it lets the wheel come back to center so I dont have to turn it all the time.

cost me $125, I'm happy with it. It's a big 2" bore one.

X2 for Ironman. While I'm not a fan of their shocks or springs, there steering dampers are great. I had and old mane emu one in and hated it, felt like it died after the firt 100km.

im looking at efs at the moment, heard they are pretty good, and 88bucks for a hd damper sounds pretty good too

i was searching on here about lux dampers, found a heap of threads saying dont buy RTC or adjustables as they are a waste of money, so i kept searching and read that people say good things about the efs xtreme damper
i got on the efs site, looked at the list of distributors local to me, went in to the closest one, asked about the xtreme damper for my lux, the guy there rang carrolls in smithfield(syd) while i was standing there and he was told that they dont do xtreme dampers, just shocks, and that the enforcer damper is $88.
maybe they dont do an xtreme damper for my model lux, but i know ive definately seen the xtreme damper.
does anyone know if efs do the xtreme damper for a 86 solid axle lux??
im assuming the enforcer isnt the HD damper.
