GV Body lift/bigger tyres

Guys, from my enquiries it appears tyre rubbing with bigger tyres is
common with the tyre set up on GV's. Is a modest lift (2") possible
with these vehicles without having to alter shifters, brake lines etc?

I assume fitment of aftermarket suspension such as adjustable Ranchos
with suitable coils, struts etc you could dial up the firmness for
onroad and soften it up for slowgoing offroad. Any experience or
knowledge on these sorts of mods for this vehicle?

I have sourced a set of std GV steelies for offroad. Just need to
decide on the rubber which will be driven by suspension/lift options
and cost. Thoughts?

Body lift should face the same issues as a normal vitara... stuff like bumpers and stuff get to be an issue but otherwise brakelines, radiators etc can cope with small lift (under 2") no hassles. Done a couple of SWB and a LWB lift for up to 35mm no probs

The other difference is you can't fit bigger tyres than 30s without panel work on all four corners

I have 2.5" suspension lift and I get mild rubbing with 29". Front tyres fowl on the chassis at full lock, and I'm yet to find any wheels with a big enough offset to fix this.

I also have Ranchos up back, and never take them off the softest setting, regardless of driving.

Needs body lift + suspension lift to clear bigger than 29" rubber.

I had no rubbing on 30"s with 2" suspension +1" body.

31"s needed butchery but I also changed wheel offset.

too much offset causes other clearance issues - sierra offset or near that seems to work best.

I'm running 215/75 with no rubbing. king springs and 30mm spacer on rear with rancho shocks, king springs, 15mm spacer on front with OME struts on the front. I would only use the OME struts have tried a number of others they are worth the money. The ranchos are great using 3 for daily driving, 5 when loaded up for a trip, and 1 for offroad. You'll need to space them out so that they don't hit the axle. I'm going to keep the Rancho's and OME's to use with my Calamini kit when it gets here (on a ship right now). Someone has done a 1 inch lift no problems on the GV, anything bigger will have problems on the V6 with the strut tower brace, and I beleive the stearing needs something done to it. Going to be haveing a look at what need to be done while its on the host getting the kit fitted.
