It may not look bent but compare it to another and you will find it is bent down slightly.

had a customers hilux at work with the same problem.
after he hit the gutter (was pissed)
check your steering hub bearing for play (worn-calapsed)
also check your wheel bearing for free-play
jack up front diff - grab tyre at 12 o,clock & 6 o,clock
should only have around 3mm to 6mm movement any more adjust wheel bearing or replace
but you would have to have at least 1cm or more play to create any probs with fouling u-bolts
i fitterd hub bearing overhaul kit & fixed the customers problem hasnt come back (fixed 8months ago)
but im sure for 1600 bucks thay would have checked that befor replacing your J-arm
normaly the o/s/top hub bearing calapses when u remove the J-arm thay may have not noticed it or didnt want to tell u
but it normaly wouldnt bolt back up
also check to see if the o/s/rear u-bolt is half the thickness of front
one last thing do u run a z-drop arm ???
i had to run one but mine was 7'' skyjacker springs
u should get away with 2'' lift without one
