What size GQ radiator cap?

Post by Tzi »

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what size radiator cap I should have for my GQ patrol. I'm losing a lot of coolant out to my overflow and I'm concerned my cap is not sealing under pressure. When I screw the cap on I barely have to push it down at all, and I think that's just the pressure of the rubber seal, not the spring.
I have a 4.2efi, current cap is 13/90.
Please post your cap size

ive got a 4.2 diesel gq, the cap isn't real tight and it seems to loose some of the coolant if i top it up, but once it has done it, the coolant level doesn't change - ever, will pretty much always take 500ml or so into the radiator to fill it - thats not a great deal.
Its something i really should look into as it seems to blow into the expansion tank and not suck back, but its done it for the past 100.000ks, having said that, if it was a petrol i'd be in more of a hurry to sort it out - cracked heads and all.

Don't know what cap mines got, when i need a new one i'll just goto nissan and get the right one - or email nizzbits!
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots
