hi all new to the site. i have an 80 series cruiser and lately has developed a problem. for some reason when you go from park to drive obviously with foot on brake there is a graunching noise and the left side of vehicle drops. going from neutral to reverse with foot of brake no issue. my thought is i have a problem with piston in left rear brake caliper. has anyone had this problem and what they did to solve it.

cheers jono.

If you think it's a brake/caliper problem, get it jacked up and try spinning the wheels whilst someone is applying the brake. If it is brake related and dropping/pushing to the left, it would be the right hand side I'd be checking, not the left.

cheers for that will pull r/h caliper apart tonight. have been told this is normal as its the torque getting sent to wheels but dont agree as it hasnt done it before, will try your suggestion and go from there

cheers jono. :?
