I have a Brawn 9500 winch i would call it still new. the 3 times i have needed it the Winch in solenode as failed.
I have been told all winches suffer from the same problem but i dont exept that.
Is there a better brand after market solenode that i can buy and change them over because the crap chinese ones are no good!

how is your winch earthed ??
id say there might be something wrong with the earthing, old mans warn had a problem with frying solenoids turns out some dumbass at arb had wired up a earth wire back to the winch frame and it dosnt gett a good connection there frying the solenoids

Well if this happens to all winches then I am in trouble cos I aint got any solinoids at all. I got a PTO.
Back topic. My dad doesnt really maintain his winch and it works fine for the last 3yrs (was on car before he brought it aswell).
I would be taking it back and say fix.

I used to sell both Warn and Superwinch .
They both had the same problems with the solenoids.Poorly sealed allowing moisture to enter and corrosion.This coupled with intermittant use caused continual problems.
One factory brochure I read said operate the winch after each trip to heat it up and dry out moisture.
There are several posts about putting the solenoids in a sealed plastic box to keep them dry.
