It may last 1klm it may last 500,000klms.. You never know.

Does it have a full service history?
Do you know the condition of the engine?
Have you had a compression test?
Has the pump or injectors ever been done?
Cooling system in good condition?

Yep mine has been turboed for just over 10,000 kays now and has 385,000 km on the clock. TB42

You will find LOTS of high kay TD42's with turbo's fitted going great. the trick is (IMO) to go conservative if you want a bit more life out of it.

Your not reinventing the wheel, there is heaps of info on turboing a patrol out there, ya just need to research.

just put a factory GU turbo with 3 inch system on my GQ which has done about 340 thousand kms.

Sump was clean as when I took it off the motor ran fine for years.

It runs like a dream. I just had it tuned on a dyno but not maxxed out as I want it to last. EGT is the key.

Bogged's advice is on the money.

I should have done it years ago.

If your engine is sound and you look after it there should be no reason why it should not last
