Are Diffs inter-changable

Post by trh80 »

I was wondering if my front diff from my 89 - LN106 2.8 Hilux is interchangable with my 93 75 series 4.2L ute. Looking at the ARB fitment for difff lockers they appear to list the same part number.

Also what about the rear (just curious)

Thanks

hilux diff wont fit in a cruiser rear but may fit front of later cruisers with smaller fronts(8") i.e. 80 series
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

I'll be corrected, but the third member bolt pattern is the same, the centre is the same, but the pinion in Hilux is low and high in the Cruiser, therefore fitment is different and gears are different..

Sorry but was not looking at putting the diff housing in the cruiser, just the centre, does that make any difference. The part number for a diff lock from ARb seems to be the same.

thanks

the centre is different in that the front of the cruiser is a high pinion, the lux is a low pinion.

the locker part number is the same, as they are both the toyota 8 inch centre design.
