Can anyone tell me why were the CV is connected onto the axle on a 92 wagon dosnt have a C clip were as a axle out of a 89 wagon dose have a Cclip it sits in a groove on the splind section that gose inside the bell of the cv were the star locates on to the axle .Also how or can you pull either of these units apart.

I just bought second hand axles as my originals are very tight to turn seems like they have been strched if its possible anyone had this problem before can i by new cvs to fit to my old axles from anywere

i thought they all had a circlip...drill hole in solid steel bench and pull axle down until the cv hits the bench.

Early ones had 2 clips, an outer one as well. later ones only use the inner.
Early ones can shear at the 2nd clip.
