Question for the 1L Guru's

Post by greg »

Folks,

I got a PM from Huck about his 1L sierra engine. Here's a quote from it:

Huck wrote:...When I replaced the front main seal I noticed that the com pully had 2 key ways on it. Do you know the reason for this and can you offer me some other advice...

Can anyone shed some light on this - I don't think i've ever sat down and looked at a 1L engine before (let alone any engine really :) ).

Thanks

A lot of engines have this you will find that to meet the emmision requirements from different countries then they run different cams which need to run different cam timing and hence the different key ways. Some Mazda cam gears have 4 keyways in them.
Hope that helps
