filler/drain plug socket size

Post by DeVooluff »

Can anyone out there in Feroza land verify the socket size to use on the gearbox/transfer case filler/drain plugs. looks like ~23mm to me. I've got a 15/16th spanner... just feels a bit loose.

I just want to know before I fork out on a new socket to add to the collection.

I'm not sure, but I think it may be 24mm???

I either used a 24mm spanner or my 300mm adjustable shifter (buy one of them instead!) You'll have trouble getting a socket onto the plug- so go for a spanner either way.

24mm will fit your torsion bar adjuster bolts too. ;)

I thought it was 24mm- that's why I originally bought my 24mm spanner? (at least I think it's 24..... best I go to the garage and check!)

Yes, you're right. :D

24mm for gearbox drain and 22mm for torsion bar adjusters.

A socket will fit on the gearbox drain, but the filler is a PITA because of the exhaust system.

Thanks for that peeps, especially those who crawled underneath to verify. ;)
