factory locker better than ARB locker???

hi just bought a smashed truck for parts it has a factory diff lock in the rear is it better or as good as a ARB air locker or are they not much chop at all??

If you already have an airlocker stick with it.

If you dont, then the factory locker you got with the smashed truck will be better than the factory LSD...

They both have their failure points - air leaks or vacuum leaks.

Just put it in, you won't look back. Just check that all the dog gears and the locking gear doesn't have rounded edges, they should be square. If they are rounded it has difficulty staying looked or even going into lock. I had my gear re-built by a gear maker, it goes in and out as quick as an airlocker without the bloody aircompressor noise. Build some armour around the diaphragm housing to protect it as this is their weakest point.

Girlfriend's fatheras the factory one in his, and he reckons it works just as well as an ARB one (he ran ARBs in his 60) so if you only have an LSD or open centre in the back then it is worth putting in but if you are already running an ARB then it isn't worth the effort of swapping
