TB42 to TD42 conversion and fuel line size
I'm doing a conversion from tb42 to td42 and need to know wether I can
use the steel fuel line from the tb for the diesel motor.
The factory diesel lines are larger than the factory petrol lines, will this be a problem?? if so then can I run the in-tank fuel pump to get more diesel to the injector pump? or will that create other problems.
TD42 will be the non-turbo slug.

I'm going to sell the tb42 with intercooler, turbo, manifold, haltech ecu, etc etc etc, tuned by pgs with dyno sheets etce etc etc when it comes out.
If your interested I can pm all the specs on whats been done as its a long long list belive me. It will go into the classifieds with pics on here when its out.

i had a carby RB30 and changed to a Turbo TD 42 and used the in tank pump as a lift pump and the original steel lines from the RB30 and havent had any dramas at all...i run a fleetguard 1 litre filter in the engine bay
i would assume the lines on my car would be the same size as yours so no need to change them

on the RB30 patrols the pump in the tank is hooked up to the key..
i ran the line from the tank to the inlet of the filter, then the outlet of the filter to the injector pump. The return from the injector pump fed back to the inlet side of the filter and then the return from the filter to the tank came from the top of the filter housing back to the tank, meaning that with the return coming from the top of the filter the filter is always full of diesel as well. The only downside to this is if the primer pump(in the tank) ever stops then the injector pump wont run the motor on its own. this can be changed by just running the return from the injector pump straight back to the tank, so once the filter has fuel the injector pump will continue to run the motor on its own..
i also just hooked the fuel cut off solenoid up to the key meaning the complete fuel system (pump and cut off solenoid)runs off the key as per normal..
you dont need to use the internal pump but in my case it was just as easy as it already had power and was working so it saved me putting an external pump or buying a filter housing with a manual primer on it..remove your efi pump and put an internal pump off a carby on it if you have one and it will all work fine

My turbo td42 starved of fuel occasionally, i think after having a look last night that the breather gets full of crap and the IP isn't strong enough to supply and the fuel pressure hunts up and down and eventually conks out from tank vacuum/dirty-ish filter. This happened at the Cape and I fixed it by blowing compressed air back down the supply line every 100k's or so. got the tank cleaned it was full of algae, wouldn't rev past 3k, now it makes alot more power. I'd put a Holley LP Pump like a few people have done on here, that my next fix.
