What Lift is needed to fit 35's on a TJ Wrangler???
Moderator: GUtripper
What Lift is needed to fit 35's on a TJ Wrangler???
Does anyone know how much lift you need to put uner a TJ Wrangler in order to fit 35 inch tyres under it? I'm asking for a friend, he doesn't want to have to go into changing arms and stuff, so I'm guessing it'll be like a 2" suspension kit, and a certain amount of body lift? Also how hard is it to fit a body lift to these cars?

If your in QLD then you can go 50mm suspension lift and 50mm body lift but body lift will require a certif For DOT.
How to fit body kit try www.jeepbrokers.com/jeep_project_1_body_lift.htm
If its manual or auto you'll need to lower your transferfer belly plate as the manual's have a shorter driveshaft then auto thas you'll get bad vib's. Can quick fix it by lowering the transfer belly plate with spacers can be bought or made, it has 6 bolts the front two use a 20mm spacer either side, the middle two use 15mm spacers , and the back two use 10mm spacers, hope that makes sense. Or lots of money fit a LOOK IT UP "SYE" slip yoke eliminator kit. Hope that helps Fellow O IIII O its a jeep thing.

Unless you are gutting or lifting the guards there is no way you will fit 35's under a TJ with less than 3.5" (for other than street cruising).
A SYE is HIGHLY recommended.
Budget on regearing your diffs too.
You'll also need wider rims if you are running >10.5" wide.
Then you'll need a set of wider flares to cover them.
Fitting a Body lift isn't difficult - but I recommend fitting a motor mount lift at the same time ( also easy to do).

Hi, there is a really good write up on the jeep forums about fitting 37" with only 2" of lift.
http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=47270
I've done it to mine and its a lot of engine bay reworking with the bolting of the front guards, intake, battery, fuse box, charcole canister and i have no washer bottle yet. but it should be legal and does allow you to fit 35" with ease... do have pic if needed..

IMHO, If your friend doesn't want to change "arms and stuff", he won't be happy with 35's on a stock geared/axled/suspended TJ.......natharmstrong88 wrote:Does anyone know how much lift you need to put uner a TJ Wrangler in order to fit 35 inch tyres under it? Forget the body lift, contact Dave "WOODERS", and order a Rubicon 3.5" lift, while he's there order a SYE/tailshaft.
Stick with 33's and he may get away it being reasonable with standard gears (depending on auto/manual).
A TJ with 33's has the same clearance as a Pootrol on 35's................
You will also need some 6 or 7" flares to cover 12.5" tyres. 3.75" BS wheels work out sweet.
If the budget is really limited, he could always order a "budget lift" which is just coil spacers and shocks. Fit up some 31's in a simex or similar.
A TJ with quality 31's and otherwise stock is a very capable 4x4..
Also, tell your friend to get onto AUSJEEP OFFROAD. Outers is good, but ausjeep is Jeep specific, and he'll learn more.
Or, call Dave @ WOODERS GARAGE and he will have all the answers for him. Cause Dave loves a chat
