Pulling out a GU transfer
disconnect tailshafts, handbrake cable, shifter linkage, wiring, crossmember (after supporting the gearbox), swag of 14mm bolts holding transfer to box.
Slip the transfer back about 40mm till its free of the shaft.
If its a 2.8 it will leak oil from the gearbox so you would need to drain this first. Even with it drained a bit of oil comes out as its trapped in the housing.
You might want a jack to support it and lower it down with as its a little awkward and a bit weighty (for me anyway)

I got mine out by removing front seats and carpet then took the gearsticks cover off. Put the engine crane inside the car and made a sling out of a tie down strap. Really easy to do - you can have the transfer out in less than an hour without any guggling of jacks on the floor.
