Is that a quote from a supplier or a guess? Not missing a zero?
Seems amazingly cheap.

i paid $2k for a 4.5L ,230,000km on it about 4 years ago as a spare,
I only fitted it 3 months ago . the old 4.2L on gas blue the head at 501,000km, thats not a bad run!!.

In the end i recoed the 4.2l head and put it on the 4.5 bottom end.
goes good.

I paid $31 for mine on ebay! It had 180,000km with a blown headgasket. Had the head reconditioned - nothing wrong with it. Keep a lookout they do come up occationally for a cheap price

no way i'd be paying over a grand for one, they have all done over 200k now.
A brand spanker or reco you'd be looking at 5k.

And yeah a mechainic will charge abit to find one (with warranty) and labour to fit.

Dont see too many for sale second hand though.

Whats wrong with yours, they are a piece of cake to do heads on if thats the problem

It is really worth as much as you are prepared to pay IMO.

A TB45E with 250,000+Ks with no history is prob worth $500-$1000 BARE

A TB45E with less than 250,000 Ks with a good service history is prob worth $1000-$3000 COMPLETE
