castor arm movement?

Post by tanz-e »

hi people, can i have some help please?
ive got this knocking noise coming from under the drivers seat somewhere... turning corners seems to aggrevate it as well as bumps in the road... today i turned a corner quite heavily, pushing the car into the chassie and maaaaan did it knock... just once, as the centre of gravity and my chassie met....

im wondering: is it possible for you castor arms to move so far sideways they knock against the chassie?*

im fairly sure its the castors, dew to dirrection of noise. aslo ive checked my shocks, springs tie rods steering arms, tailshafts, uni, gearbox and transfer case mounts, engine mounts-(one was stuffed, since, both have been renewed), everythings real nice and tight...

there is no visible scratches or marks in the dirt on either the chassie or the castor so its got me stumped.....

check you body mounts , better yet just replace your body mounts as it is pretty hard to see anything wrong with them

Go through and tighten them up first before you buy new ones. Had same problem.
