Has any one had any drama's wrapping a low mount turbo header with the heat insulator tape with regards to it retaining moisture and rusting out like on mild steel exhausts?

Or is this perfectly do-able?

I have heard bad things about heat tapeing used to do bit of high performacne stuff back in syd was a no no got them done by high performance coatings instead. Looks sweet too.

I have seen tubing type pipes crack underneath the lagging on race cars, but never rust out - too hot to retain any moisture.
I have lagging on my dump pipe section just to stop the heatsoak into clutchline and cylinder on the TD42 with low mount.
I have also run turbo blankets on the turbo exhaust housing for many years without drama. Just takes a bit longer to cool down before shutting off

If you want to protect your clutch line or some other equipment, you can get Earls Firesleeve tubing (go the grey one its better for heat apparently)
