FJ - Defuelling

Post by 4800VTC »

How do I defuel an FJ without sticking hoses into the fuel tank ...

I've tried disconnecting the hose thats coming from fuel tank to fuel filter and turned the key to 2nd position, did same with the hose thats going from filter to engine and still nothing's coming ... ?

On my patrol its easy, remove the hose from fuel filter, turn key and it pumps... i'm not very familiar with toyotas so how do i go about it ?

thanks

Undo the bung in the bottom of the fuel tank grab a bucket and a 17mm spanner or socket.

Or you may be able to hook up an inline electric pump and do it that way.

1GR is fuel injected

unbolt the main feed line from the rail and put 12v constant on the fuel pump

problem solved
