am thinking of cutting my 80 into a ute but dont know if i should go duel cab or extra cab, can you PLEASE post up some pics of differnt conversions. thansk

extra cabs look way better and that way you can set up the tray better aswell with more room to do what you want with it with still enough room to put some stuff in the cab if need be
but if you wanna take people with you dual cab would be the way to go.
all depends on personal requiremants mate.
im thinking of doing the same to my 60 down the track aswell.

I think your question is more do I want seats or tray space .
If you are making the choice based on looks don't start the cut.
I have a wagon and am keen to chop it also. I know I need the rear seats so the choice is simple. The best part of the chop is getting all the rattles out the back wear they belong and not in the cab. This is my only gripe with the wagon after coming from a 75 tray. Whatever your choice they all look trick with a good tray setup.

I have an extra cab and i think it has a cut down rear end too which leaves me f@#% all room on the tray, i may aswell have a dual cab. Just not enough room to put dickie seats in, prob like 400mm from back of drivers seat to rear wall, good for keeping shit out of the weather but. plenty of room for a cage one day too :lol: if i keep it that long.

If you cut at the floor rise for the rear seat, that gives you 450mm of behind seat space, and the pillar around 300mm, and you can go up to 2100mm tray if required.

Don't forget that a dual cab is heaps easier to do than an extra cab panel wise. Just cut it, radius the corner, fit a back panel, bog and paint.

No door welding, door and gap filling, pillar filling, wheel arch filling, side window fabrication, interior panelling, floor mods, etc.

If I could talk myself into dual cabbing mine instead of going the extra cab it would make my life a lot simpler.

I would imagine easier = cheaper. I'd be interested in the price difference between the two cab styles. Perhaps he charges a lot more for an extra cab conversion?

well as its now turned out dale isnt doing cab cuts anymore, so it looks like ill be having a go myself, anyone had some pics of extra cab cuts so i can see what other ppl have done?

the back of the cab is actually an f truck back (narrowed down) and they run flat glass. so a mate made me up a laminated rear window

i dont need a window now, i have cut the cab and had it enginered now, its now in the paint shop. ill post up some pics when its out
