I have 2003 Disco that is only a 5 seater. As the family is growing we would like to the option of another seat or two. The disco is already heavily modified that we have had from new so do not really want to get another one that we do not know so well.
So the question is how easy or difficult is to add the third row of seats to one that did not come with them???
Any help appreciated.
Dwayne

Disco 2 Rear Seats
Moderator: Micka
The hard part is getting hold of the seats. Ideally you'd want to get hold of the 7 seater rear side trims (the ones where your cargo buckets currently are) along with the seats and all their paraphernalia, unless you can find someone local to you who has a template made up to cut the required holes in those trims to fit the seat brackets.... Or of course someone with a 7 seater who doesn't mind you using their trims to measure/trace off (some of the holes are kind of like a capital i, others go in a particular spot, and I think the seat actually latches off them)
You also need to cut holes in the carpet in the rear floor, and there are plastic trims that are supposed to go over those, but I don't think the seats actually require the floor trims to be there.
The only part I can't remember about is the headrests in the roof, I think from my dim memory its just a matter of making a hole or two in the headlining for the bolts to go through, but I could be wrong.
However, its not a HARD job, just time consuming. As far as I remember, it basically all just bolts in, but it HAS been at least 2.5 years since I had to do a conversion! I'd suggest you go to a car yard or a mate with a 7 seater though, and have a really good look at the setup, so you know exactly which bits you need/want for the job.
