Hi
Had a few issues with my Hand Brake, I had it adjusted it worked for one day, went out to Land cruiser park took it into a mud pit at the pig pen, got stuck, after the hand brake and Alternator would not work, fixed the Alternator but the hand brake is still not good! I adjusted it this time, it worked for a few weeks but is starting to fail again..
Could I have a cable problem - is this a standard thing with Toyota's as my old Prado was not much better.

Unfortunately its a standard toyota thing!
Make sure you adjust as per the Toyota FSM, ie: back the cable right off, adjust the drums and then adjust the cable. Most people just tighten the cable only which causes headaches as it stretches.
