I just rang the local Mitsu dealer 'cause I need a new cv boot
he quoted me $148 for the 'boot kit' :shock: is that normal ?
I know that the genuine ones are supposed to be stronger than the after market ones

Yep that is the correct price.
I have found that they are by far the strongest, I went through 3 el cheapo boots ($20 Ea) on the left side inner (shorter driveshaft) in 4-5 months. Then I went back to the Mitsu boot and it's been fine for over 2 yrs.
I guess if your prepared to do a bit of research and can fit them yourself then you might find something in the mid range that is just as good as the Mitsu ones. There are some new ultra flexible silicon boots on the market now but I have never chased them up.

Have replace two LHS boots in the last 6 months with el-cheapo ones.

Will see how long the latest one lasts then might have to invest in some better ones. It's not a hard job to do - just a pain in the 'rse.

My mitsu ones lasted 6 months, i put Kelpro ones in and they lasted about 14 months. I put another set of mitsu ones in 10 months ago and 3 are busted open, still have some kelpro ones new in the box ready to go but cbf putting them in a g a i n... whoever buys my paj will have to chuck em in themself :D

I reckon thats why I've got the life out of the Mitsu ones.

Nah i still got the autos ones Frank, call me the laziest fella in NSW and i wouldnt deny it :lol:
The angle my CV's are on from the amount of lift i have i cant expect much from a cv boot anyway :cool:
