Extracters on not on 2.8?

Post by Wonderboy »

the missus has just picked up a 95 duelcab 2.8 with stock exhaust. trouble is after driving mine with extracters and 2.5inch pipe she seems to think her power is down and now want new system. i have read before that it wont make bugger all difference, but am just after some opinions wether its worth doin it or not?

cheers mick.

You're right, did 2.25" pipe straight thru muffler and extractors on mine with the 2.8, didn't make much difference other than the sound, which isn't great or truck - like like I hoped.

What it did do was clean up the bulky standard exhaust manifold and heat shield and rerouted the pipe cross over behind the transfercase for better clearance, rather than the factory wrap around the bellhousing.
