Gearbox Bush Woes

Post by bakerboy »

I know its for a mitsi but thought here would be better suited for any other options for the problem

ok so there are 2 bushes used to secure the box in an NG V6 5spd, one on the bottom crossmember, a rectangular shaped bush, and another located on the side, a round one with a bolt through it. Any one have any idea where i can get it from, wreckers have no idea and covs gave me a part number that turns out to be and engine mount of a similar description.

Could i booty fab a bush up? And if so what should i make it from?

Cheers

Have you tried genuine? Sometimes they are suprisingly cheap for some parts. If not, you can make up youre own, but you wont be able to make it from rubber. Best option is to buy a brick of something like Nolathene and carve the shape outta that. Or try to get another bush that looks similar. Or take the old bush to wreckers and match it off another Mitsu there.

Wierd that they are "bushes". They should be mounts. One is a gearbox mount and the other is a support.

Kelpro make them both.
Gearbox Mount KELPRO MT8553
Transmission Support KELPRO MT8590

Neither of them are terribly expensive.
