Just wondering if anyone has had any experience buying/using lockers from these guys.

Chinese Diff Locks
There was a guy who had 'GQ' and 'pig' in his username some time ago and he bought 2x chinese arilockers and was going to fit and test them, but I haven't seen anything from him.
There's also a HUGE thread on the pro's and con's of them. (More personal opinion than fact how due to a distinct lack of empirical data on the chinese variety.)
But they ARE out there, and for $700 instead of $1100-1300 each, you'd HAVE to consider them!
However, remember to factor in fitting in any overall saving. Also, if you are considering a gearing change, getting lockers and gears fitted at the saemt ime is a good way to save $$. Also, doing as much as you can by removing the centres for example can save you $$. If you can do it ALL yourself, well done!!

I saw a video comparing them with an ARB locker (granted the video was made by ARB), It showed the internals of the ARB locker vs the Chinese locker, the difference in build quality and component strength was huge, The Chinese locker had nasty cheap plastic bits in it and when they did a load test the Chinese locker flew apart very quickly compared to the ARB which snapped the axle before it ever got close to breaking the locker, If I was going to fit one, I'd spend the extra and get the higher quality product and save money in the long run, the risk of damaging the diff etc when it broke, not to mention putting me and the vehicle in a difficult position for recovery/repair along with the inconvenience and expense would make its a no contest. Also Its a lot cheaper/easier to change an axle than a diff centre.
About $400 nz depending on the exchange rate, thats picking up from the factory not importing, I found and old ORE thread with somebody selling them locally for $1500 I think but I can't find it again, am still looking and will put up the link when I do.
My thoughts are similar on buying cheap as stuff, that's why I was keen to hear from someone that's tried one.
I have talked to some guys that know the company but havn't tried the locker, their opinion is that as a local they would be the better company to deal with, not the cheapest but more reliable? if thats the right way to phrase it.

hopefully will pick it up in April so will report back then, [/quote]
