Cherpkee diff noise ??

I have a 1994 Cherokee Ltd. When backing off accelerator I get loud rumble from rear end. Bearings have been replaced. Any suggestions where to go next?

when you replaced the bearings what bearings did you replace,the crown wheel and pinion brgs or just the crownwheel?

Sorry, shd hv been more specific. Rear axle bearings replaced. My guess is noise is coming from diff. But what causes it ??

i had a similer noise a few years ago with my 97 diesel, turned out i was missing nearly half the teeth from the spider gears, was a fairly easy fix got a rebuild kit from Super F spares and replaced all the gears with new spicer cut gears
coming soon to a book store near you.....
