front drive shaft with ruff???????
hey guys just woundering what to do with my front drive shaft as i have done a ruff converson and the front shaft is way to short.
i want some thing balanced as i want to do high speeds in 4x4 (eg. up the beach) i have searched and it seems i can only find box shafts that ribrate at 60klms

cut it just after the front uni and weld some pipe in the same diameter the length you need.then get it balanced at a driveshaft place.if youve done it properly(square) then it should balance fine and wont vibrate.i didnt bother balancing mine and havent noticed any vibration.
or get a driveshaft spacer.

Or cut the of the doulbe cardan joint of your front drive shaft and get a rear tail shaft and cut it to the lenght you require for the ruff and weld the doulbe cardan joint to the end you cut.Mark the rear shaft were the rear uni phase was on your cut line.So when you weld the carden joint on its in the same phase spot.Hopefully the balance it's to far out.
You normally need a longer spline shaft with RUF so extending it may not help that's why most people use RHS to get the long slip not necessarily the extra length.
and not many people need to go faster than 60km/h in 4WD even on sand if you can safely go that speed you can usually drive in 2WD

RHS shaft will cost you $20 in steel.
