GQ power window amplifier

Post by Screwy »

Guys,

Just been wiring in power windows to my shorty from scratch, its been going well as far as the switching and power / earth of it all goes, ive got it all working.... ( i had no looms with the motors and switches )

The kit i bought had a Power window amplifier ( small black recangle mounted to the drivers side door that plugs into a power window harness if i ever had one.... )

It doesnt appear that i need it, but i want to know what it does.... if its important i can try and wire it in somehow.....

The wiring diagrams i have from gregories manual are poor at best, they do show the amplifier but not its purpose etc etc..

anyone know what it does and if i can get away without it?

cheers

Dont quote me but im nearly certian its for the auto window up/down function. mine stuffed up about 6 months ago and it ended up being a solder join which needed reheated. when the box stuffed up in mine the drivers window wouldnt work at all but all other windows were fine. im only assuming its the auto up/down as its only the drivers window with this function and the only window with this box.

hope this helps
