rocky heating up

Hi,
As the title suggests, my f75 is heating up on long hill climbs (on the highway). I've checked the raidiator fluid, and the level is fine, so i don't think it is that. The oil is clean - albeit black.
Has anyone else found this to be a problem with their rockys? Any suggestions?

Also, I've been trying to get my hands on a service manual, but cant find one. I looked through the FAQ and the links dont seem to provide a working copy.

Hey i know bumping is bad, but I kinda need some help if anyone knows whats happening. There is a shortage of daihatsu specialists, so you guys are my best help option!

Alex.tas, in the Daihatsu FAQ there is a heap of tips.

Have you flushed out your cooling system, is your radiator stuffed, is your thermostat reading correctly, coolant, etc

if your viscous fan is stuffed, I'd buy an electric thermo personally

try running it without the thermostat fitted and see if that makes a difference (if it does then your thermostat is buggered so replace it)

finally got around to fixing it, but when i looked through my service manual, i found that the capacity of the cooling system is 10.8l for the rocky, but when i went to change it i could only get roughly 7 l in. I had the heater fully on.

Also should my fan behind the radiator run as soon as i start the engine from cold?

yes it is normal, when the engine is off you should be able to spin the fan but should have resistense, to know if its seized or the bearing is on the way out hold the fan tight and get someone to start the car you should feel how smooth its spinning let it go and see how fast it kicks back into spinning full speed if it takes longer than say 2 seconds its fucked it should do it almost similtaniously as you let go. but also i would install a thermo fan, helps with alot more air flow and cooling!
and with you cooling problem i know youve solved it but just incase its still acting a bit funny when you go up a hill, dont forget about your radiator cap, its just as important as your thermostat lots of people forget about it and keep your overflow bottle full. hope all is working ok
