3 core coppper diesel... ive been caining my 3rz with one n never gets hot- EVER.. Mates just put one infront of his 5litre inj lux, after failing with the alloy one. Go it, it wil be enuf.. especially being an alloy v8, should be right.

radiator

We did this in Lawrie Sternbecks

Lawrie has 1UZ - radiator started out as std lux but behind cabin. Upgraded top larger unit - anything bigger will do. But at high speeds there is a void of air behind the cab and no size thermos and radiator work in a vacum. Lawrie is going a side mount behind the cab. I am trialling bonnet scoop on the roof above back seats and venting through rear window (removed).

Worth a try - it's not expensive and goes straight in. If she runs warm then you know to upgrade.

V6 converted to 4 core as a straight bolt in, providing the inlet and outlet are in the right places. Otherwise convert the diesal to 4 core.

My experience with ADC was bad, they should be ADH.

My old 4runner with a 1uz was fine most of the time with a taller core copper radiator, with larger inlet/outlets over the stock size (38mm from memory).

But, get it fully loaded up and on the beach, and it coudn't cope.

I wouldn't waste your $$ on a copper one, go straight to a alloy one and never have to worry about cooling issues.

I ran an alloy dual core and never had overheating issues with it up front. On the rear was the same problem Hobzee described. I ran twin AU thermos originally and down the track due to bodylift removal had to run a large Davies fan also without issue.

Scott at Venom Cobras does an alloy one that fits the Hiluxs well maybe give him a call not 100% on price around $700 I think from memory.

It did not cool my engine anywhere near as well as the current standard V6 unit converted to 4 core does. It was one of their single 40mm deep core units.

The core came away from the tanks.

That's my experience, hence Aussie Desert Heating.

Everyone I know with a V8 Surf are running copper radiators with no heating probs at all.

But they all Holden V8s, maybe the Lexus is different.

Cheers
