Regulator Wiring - Help Needed (obviously, ha)

Post by vanzbrown »

Hi guys, hopefully i can explain this...

Just have a new regulator im going to try in my landcruiser 60series...

The thing is, the one that is in it, is the newer style electronic one, whereas the one im replacing it with, whilst new, is the older bigger style...

Right, so now look at these pictures...

What im wondering is where does the blue wire go from the plug on the new regulator (picture 1) , as the old one did not have this extra wire...

However, in picture 2 you can see the little black box thingy on the blue wire coming out of the black plug where the regulator plugs into the loom... This was bolted under the same bolt that holds the regulator to the body of the vehicle.

Is the little black box something required, or was it just something extra needed for the old regulator, and i can cut that out, and just attach the blue wire from the plug on the new regulator, to that blue wire from the loom plug...

I really hope that makes some sense, and that someone with a bit of nous could help me out... The manual i have mentions nothing about it.

Thanks in advance people!

hey mate,

Usually the blue wire is only required if it is there on your standard reg so you should be able to just leave it.
