variable intermittent wipers

Post by flyology »

I have a 60 series cruiser, and was wondering if anyone knows of where i can get a kit (I have seen them some time ago) or how to convert the intermittent setting to variable intermittent. (so the delay between wipes can be adjusted from a second or so to around 10 seconds) The 60 has a wiper relay/switch under the dash, is it just a matter of replacing the resistor with a pot?

Some may say this is not necessary, but it makes things a bit easier during the wet season up here.....

Thanks,

MB

Jaycar has a kit for this from what i remember

Mate has one in his 60.

Also check the imports, may be standard on there.

Searched Jaycar, Dicksmith and Altronics websites and could not find any wiper kits, I did find some international ones though:

I also found this diagram, easy enough to make but I could not find any reference as to where to connect to existing intermittent wipers:

I believe the wiper control in a 60 is the gray box mounted in front of the left knee under the dash with four wires coming off. Wondering if the wired would be 1 power, and three for the settings int, slow, fast?

maybe if I tapped into the intermittent wire and added the above circuit?
