Post by Kane »

I just want to congratulate the boys at 4X4 TV on a grate first series and look forward seeing it getting bigger and bigger as time goes on. This is what the 4X4 community has wanted for so long and I hope every one supports them by watching and Contributing. Good luck for the future and keep that camera running!

the first few shows were pretty good... quite a bit of driving....some local tracks...
the last few episodes IN MY OPINION have been for the sponsors....
Now dont get me wrong...I understand that the sponsors are what make the possible....
But i have not seen one "viewers rig" with Hella Lights and a Warn winch

First of all patrolman you wobbly...that was my wife driving the 80, and she has read your reply...last time I looked Hari had nothing like three bull lights on his bar, she can kick my ass so you know what is coming...

Secondly, 'quote Miranda'... chicks lay eggs so whomever saw my car should come out for a drive 'unquote Miranda'!

Thirdly, out of ten shows there was one viewers rig that had Narvas and every winch was a warn, there were more trip and track reports in the second half of the series and for sure we are biased towards our sponsors...we lost a shit load of time and money doing this for the industry and it only went ahead because the sponsors who had the guts to put their own money up to make it happen. Not to say we don't know it wasn't the best, and yes we made some mistakes...but with no experience or help, I think we did ok.

Half shit, half good...don't really care, we did the best we could and we are still learning but who will argue that it wasn't a 100% improvement on the 4x4 shows you were watching.

Want the show to be better...then freaken help us...please...

I understand you guys did your best and yes it is a 100 % improvement on what is around.....

all i was saying is that the last 2 shows had hardly any wheeling...
it does seem like you guys are running out of ideas for segments e.g. the "how to change a globe" section last week was very lame...

I would be happy to help in any way possible....
PM me to discuss a few ideas i have floating around in my head

Thanks...really appreciate that. We're not short on ideas, just time and footage. Miranda and I run our own RTO (www.nie.edu.au) with an international training program preparing elite students for entry into medical degrees within Aussie and NZ universities...so time did become a problem and I apologise for that.

We were also let down by a number of interstate individuals who had promised some big footage...had to fill some spots at the last minute (all the shows were finished between the Friday to Monday preceeding each episode airing on Tuesday...80 man hours per show and our own lives to lead...did get a bit hard).

What we really need for series two are track and trip reports with action (legal)...any one got a miniDV...?

Yeh...patrolman is one that did help and got a special thanks in episode ten...

Re us supplying the cam...we still haven't covered our man hours, two cameras, microphones, miniDV tapes and sundries...and can't lend out $1500 handy cams.

All the sponsor money went on paying for editing and Ch31 air time.

Organise a trip and get patrolman and his dad to tag along...Patrolman now has a fairly good idea of what footage works for us...

btw...I had very little to do with show nine to prove a point (globe segment, etc).
