HZJ75 standard or 2 inch ride height
Hey guys purchased a HZJ75 a few months back and its still on standard split rims and tyres .
The front and rear springs have sagged substantially and i'm now looking to replace them and am unsure whether to go raised or standard spprings ,but as i will still need to fit it in a garage i would like to know what a standard or 2 inch raised height of the vehicle may be before i purchase springs .
any help would be greatly appreciated .

no worries mate, glad to try and help, mine might be sagging too compared to your mates, or my front end could be heavier, (i run the 2h) and then their is the possibility that mine is lifted, which i doubt, (well hope it isnt)
so what are you going to do now?? buy standard or lifted springs??

ute
my mates springs look like standard height but haven't sagged much , also he has the petrol motor , steel bar no dual batteries etc .
i'm going with 2 inch raised springs and will see how it goes , the front of my ute sits down quite a bit so i think this will be fine for what i need of the ute .
i'll post up the height after i get them in .

that would be good mate, i am thinking to go the custom length new mains, with 2 inch lift, and then play witht he rest of the pack to get it flexing how i want,
also at the moment i have no bar on the front and i also dont have dual batterys, so i am guessing mine is sagged stock suspension,

hey micka1,
once you get the 2 inch springs chucked in could you please measure up the distance between the bump stop and the diff housing for me?
i got a hzj75 and recently put some 2 inch springs in since the fronts had sagged badly and it seemed to make the car sit level.
its running standard length greasable shackles, and its now got around 80-90mm between my bump stop/diff housing (and its got a steel bar).
i thought i'd get a bit higher from 2 inch springs, but my shackles are nearly sitting vertical.
cheers,
george

the suspension mob told me that the shackles should not be vertical, but be close to it as having dead vertical shackles will mean the ride will be rougher.
when i did the swap i put both spring packs next to each other and they were the same length/height, but when i actually put the new one in it definitely did raise it.
i'll eventually put some extended shackles in to give it another inch of front lift and it should help the flex a tad more.

springs
ok i got my front 2 inch ome springs in , they are rated at plus 110kgs as i have a winch , dual batteries , steel bar etc .
the shackle angle is just past 45 degrees and the bumpstop to diff height in front is about 105 mm .. up from the 35 i had when i started
waiting for my rear 2 inch to suit for the rear, shoudl get them some time this week ..

how did the springs compare side by side when you took them out?
longer, higher, thicker?
105mm is pretty good!
i'm going to put my dedicated offroad wheels on in a few days and flex the front end to see if i can get the bump stops to hit the diff. if i cant i'll chuck some bump stop extensions in to help with the flex.

springs
the springs side by side , new ones were a little more arched and have 3 extra leaves ( 9 instead of the 6 ) of the standard ones .
vehicles drives much better and front suspension works now , instead of driving half on the bumpstops on any bump .
yeah i'm happy with the height , obviously it will drop a little when they settle in but as i said this is only my tow car and easy tourer .. wasn't really after flex out of it .
will let you know what happens when i get the rears

cheers mate,
i'm really interested in the rears as i currently have 400kg constant mine pack rears and FK ME DEAD, feels like i got bashed in the back after offroading, lol
they dont flex, i never have 400kg in the back anymore, they just do nothing but cause pain.
i want rears with 2 inch lift, but some that will flex and be alright flexing/driving with a steel tray and say only 50kg on the back.
