I have worn through the rubber button on the key. I've tried search and didn't find anything useful.
The key and electrics still work, but I want to try and replace the rubber button before dirt and crap gets in and stuffs the whole thing.
It appears that the button is a rubber mold into the plastic surround. I spoke with my local Nissan dealer who told me that I'd have to buy a whole new key, etc. bloody expensive when mine still works just fine.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the key plastic housing as an aftermarket part? Or maybe someone has a different fix? Surely I can't be the only one with this problem.
I've thought about going to a wreckers to get another key and swapping the electronic guts over, but I think my chances of getting a near new one is slim. Plus I don't think a wrecker would be interested in parting out a key without the rest of the electronics / NATS.
Cheers!
